Currently, benefits for people with disabilities who are married and both receive Supplemental Security Income are 25% less than for people who are not married. This penalty is unfair and increases the chance that people with disabilities live in poverty.
No one should be penalized for getting married! Contact your Representative and tell them to support H.R. 7055, The Eliminating the Marriage Penalty in SSI Act (EMPSA).
